Turning Help Into Hope

Supporting local nonprofit organizations

at the forefront of mental health and addiction.

"The Light at the End of the Tunnel"

As more and more people are being vaccinated, and as businesses, restaurants, entertainment, and sports venues are opening up, we’re seeing the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. Many people of all ages have experienced depression and anxiety resulting from stay-at-home restrictions. Some have lost friends and loved ones to COVID-19, some have lost jobs and are experiencing financial and food insecurity. Kids and teens have lost valuable educational and social interactions. And for people with mental health diagnoses, the loss of face-to-face services and supports has had a major impact. There are steps that can be taken as part of an overall positive approach to mental health.

Our panel of experts discussed the importance of exercise, mindfulness, and nutrition as part of a holistic approach to mental health. Our panelists were Chuck Markham, LPC, Sussex Therapy, Debra Chase, Owner and Coach, Crossfit Skunk, and Rosa Stycheck, Yoga Instructor

"Who would have thought that it will take an organization such as Team Up for Hope to pick up the slack left by the closing of hospitals dedicated solely for the treatment of mental wellness in New York State and, specifically, Orange County, NY? Last year's and this year's very generous donations from your organization have enabled NAMI Orange County, NY to provide much-needed assistance to the people living with mental wellness issues. With Team Up for Hope's financial assistance, NAMI Orange County NY has been able to give people experiencing mental health challenges and their families in our community free support throughout the year..."

"We are amazed by Team Up for Hope's energy and enthusiasm for raising awareness about mental health and encouraging members of the community to contribute funds to support the work of a small, all-volunteer, non-profit organization like NAMI Sussex. As an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI Sussex provides free support, education, and advocacy throughout the Sussex County, New Jersey area on behalf of individuals and families affected by mental illness. We have never before had a community partner fundraise to such an extent on our behalf, and we are truly grateful and humbled."

Team Up for Hope is made up of people who are representative of most communities today. Some of us have loved ones living with a mental illness or substance abuse problem. Some of us have lost loved ones to suicide or overdose. Some of us have not personally experienced these issues but want to be a positive force in our towns. And all of us want to bring hope to our communities.

The initial Team is also made up of Sales Associates and Staff of Green Team Realty in Warwick NY and Vernon NJ and we'll be lending our skills and expertise to the organizations we're teaming up with.

Our approach to helping our communities is to work with local nonprofits who are in the forefront of addressing the issues of mental health, substance abuse and suicide.  We are teaming up with:
